Nach­haltig­keits­studie im Pitz­tal gestar­tet

Das Institut für Geographie der Uni Innsbruck hat gemeinsam mit der Sektion München des Deutschen Alpenverein e.V. ein Pilotprojekt gestartet: Mit einem breit angelegten Monitoring soll der Ist-Zustand der Alpenvereins-Hütte Taschachhaus erfasst werden. Die daraus gewonnen Erkenntnisse sollen dazu dienen, den nachhaltigen Betrieb der Alpenvereins-Hütte zu optimieren.

World society is facing a comprehensive social-ecological crisis related to fast political, economic, technological and social changes. The current economic model and its forms of excessive resource extraction and use exacerbate ecological problems and conflicts, generates political instability and increases social inequalities. There is emerging agreement in science, politics and society that a fundamental transformation is needed. Some stakeholders frame the adoption of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as an important step towards recognising and addressing the most pressing transformation needs. However, many scholars argue that such a transformation requires a more radical change of current modes of production and living as well as development pathways instead of mere technological and managerial solutions. Im Rahmen der Fairen Woche werden in Köln aktuelle Forschungsergebnisse, insbesondere aus den Sozialwissenschaften, präsentiert. AGEF on Air: Interviews in Radio Unijuí FM

IMG_1774The program  “Encontro  Casual” of Radio Unijuí FM, Ijuí-RS, Brazil, brought as guest the professor of the University of Innsbruck, Austria, Martin Coy! Participating in the “I Latin American Symposium on Regional Development Studies – Possibilities for Development in Peripheral Territories“, the geographer spoke about his trajectory and intimate connection with Brazil and South America.

Among the topics covered during the program are the social policy of economic blocs, global migration and the importance of cultural exchange relationships.
