Two new Doctors in the AGEF

In the last two weeks Jutta Kister and Michael Klingler finished their dissertations! Congratulations to the new Doctors in Geography!

On November 20, Jutta Kister successfully defended her PhD-thesis on
“Globale Wertschöpfungsketten im Fairen Handel”. And on November 28, Michael Klingler presented his results on his topic “Zero Deforestation – Sozial-ökologische Transformation der Frontier Amazonien”.

CONGRATULATIONS Jutta and Michael for your excellent research!!

Robert Hafner – PhD !!

On June 26, 2017, excellent researcher Robert Hafner achieved his PhD in Geography. In his stunning speech he presented his results on environmental justice in the soy agribusiness in northwestern Argentina. CONGRATULATIONS!

Martina Neuburger – official celebration of habilitation

On Friday 27, 2015, long-term member of AGEF, Martina Neuburger (now Professor for Integrative Geography at Hamburg University), was officially celebrated for receiving her Habilitation („Entangled Ruralities – Ländlichkeit und peasantry  in Zeiten globalisierter Dynamiken“).

“Wem gehört der öffentliche Raum?” – We congratulate Tobias Töpfer for successfully presenting his dissertation!

On February 18, Tobias Töpfer, long-standing member of our work group, has successfully presented his dissertation with the title: “Wem gehört der öffentliche Raum? Aufwertungs- und Verdrängungsprozesse im Zuge von Innenstadterneuerung in São Paulo.”
