Since the beginning of June, first interviews in the context of the Project HIGHLANDS.3 have been conducted by Carine Pachoud in the Northern French Alps. She focuses on initiatives linked to pastoralism in different mountain ranges in the departments of Isère and Savoy.
Although a wide variety of initiatives are taken into account, the analysis concentrates more deeply on the initiative called “Plan Pastoral Territorial” (PPT), which was funded by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. The PPTs allow local stakeholders concerned with pastoralism to implement projects in a concerted way. The project can be linked to improvement of alpine pastures, studies, communication and awareness-raising actions.
Interviews have been conducted with people working in regional nature parks, pastoral services, municipalities and grouping of municipalities, environmental associations and the federation of hunters.
